Applying on ReKrute, Emploi.ma and LinkedIn: what changes from one to the next

· 7 min read

On a job board your CV is not the first thing filtered: your profile fields are — function, sector, level of study, years of experience, languages, city, salary expectations. A complete profile with an average CV gets more replies than an empty profile with an excellent one. Fill in the profile first, attach the CV second.

Why the profile matters more than the CV

A recruiter who posts an ad on a job board receives a list, and that list is produced by filters: city, years of experience, level of study, language, function. Those filters query structured fields — the ones you filled in when you registered — because a field filters reliably and a PDF does not.

Your CV comes into play afterwards: it is what the recruiter opens to decide who, from the list, gets a call. An excellent CV attached to an incomplete profile never gets opened, because the row never appears in the list.

ReKrute

One of the most used job sites in Morocco, with a strong presence of large employers and recruitment agencies. Applications generally go through the platform itself rather than by email, which means your profile always travels with your CV.

  • Fill in every function and sector field, even the ones that feel redundant: they are what makes you appear in recruiters’ searches.
  • Update your profile before a round of applications, not after. Recently active profiles are more visible in most candidate databases.
  • Turn on alerts by keyword and by function. On competitive roles, the first applications are read with more attention than later ones.
  • Attach a single-column CV named Firstname-Lastname-Role.pdf — that is the name the recruiter sees in their list.

Emploi.ma and the other generalists

Emploi.ma, Marocannonces and aggregators of the same kind cover a wider spread, with many small firms and regional postings. Two practical consequences.

  • Some ads ask for an application by email. Treat the email as a letter: an explicit subject line ("Application — Account manager — Casablanca"), three lines of body, CV attached under a proper filename.
  • Ads are sometimes reposted or relayed from another site. Check the date and, where possible, apply on the company’s own site too: that is where the application lands most directly.
  • Duplicates are common. Keep a list of your applications somewhere, or you will apply twice to the same role a fortnight apart.

LinkedIn in Morocco

LinkedIn has become established for management profiles, tech, consulting and international roles based in Morocco. It is not where the majority of the market’s vacancies sit, but it is where the recruiters who search actively sit.

  • Your headline is a search field, not a signature. "Recruitment officer | Casablanca | Offshoring" gets found; "Passionate about people" does not.
  • Fill in the experience section with the same titles as your CV. An inconsistency between the two is the first thing a recruiter notices.
  • The skills section is queried by recruiter searches: list tools there by name.
  • A role posted on LinkedIn is often also on the company’s own site. Applying there directly removes an intermediary.

And ANAPEC

ANAPEC works on a different model: a structured profile, advisers, vacancies and training programmes. The graphic design of a PDF plays no part there; only the fields count. It is a separate channel, complementary to the job boards, covered in its own guide.

Should I apply through the platform or by email?

Through whichever channel the ad specifies, without exception. An application emailed when the ad asks you to use the platform never enters the recruiter’s tracking process and gets lost in a shared inbox. Where both are possible, the platform is safer: it timestamps your application and attaches it to the posting.

How many applications a day is reasonable?

Fewer than most people attempt. Five tailored applications beat thirty identical ones: the response rate of a generic CV on a competitive role is very low, and the total effort is comparable. What wears people down is volume without replies, not the work of tailoring.

Should I state salary expectations?

Where the field is mandatory, yes — an empty field sometimes falls out of filters. Give a realistic range for the function and the city rather than a single figure. Where the field is optional and the ad asks for nothing, you can leave it and raise it at the first interview.

Should my CV differ from one platform to another?

No, but it should differ from one ad to another. The CV stays the same document, reordered and reworded for the posting you are answering. What changes between platforms is your profile, which should be complete everywhere you are registered.

Your next application goes out tonight.

Add your CV once. Everything after that is a minute per posting — and the first one costs you nothing.
